For too many Georgia families, child care exceeds the cost of college tuition. At the same time, skyrocketing rents and home prices are putting homeownership further out of reach for families. Jason believes bringing down these costs is essential to strengthening our state’s economy, improving educational outcomes for Georgia students, and protecting the health and well-being of Georgia families. That’s why, in the State Senate, he sponsored legislation to expand early learning for three-year-olds in Georgia and bring down property taxes for seniors in Atlanta.
As governor, Jason wants to ensure all Georgia families have access to quality, affordable child care and early childhood education while ensuring those same families can keep a roof over their heads. Jason will continue to stand up to the out-of-state corporations squeezing Georgia families out of the housing market, increase the housing supply, and protect renters from predatory landlords.
Half a million Georgians don’t have access to healthcare—and that number continues to grow with Donald Trump in the White House. Georgians are still being forced to choose between putting food on the table and paying for lifesaving prescription drugs like insulin. Jason is running for governor to change that.
As governor, Jason will fight to lower the cost of insurance premiums by expanding Medicaid and getting more Georgians insured, lower the cost of prescription drugs, expand our rural hospitals and clinics, and secure much-needed resources for senior care across the state.
As a small business owner, Jason Esteves understands the challenges and opportunities that come with opening a business. Our state’s entrepreneurs are the drivers of our state economy, as over half of all Georgians are employed by small businesses.
As governor, Jason will prioritize local small businesses, making it easier for Georgians to access capital and build wealth for generations to come.
As a parent, former public school teacher, and former chair of the Atlanta Board of Education, Jason believes in the power of a strong public education system and knows that Georgia cannot thrive without investing in our students.
As a state senator, Jason has been a champion for investing in literary programs and has stood up against voucher schemes that siphon resources away from our public schools.
As governor, he is committed to fully funding our public schools and modernizing our school funding formula, increasing pay for Georgia’s teachers, and expanding early learning programs for three and four-year-olds.
Faced with one of the most restrictive abortion bans in the country, Georgia women continue to experience the most devastating effects of the Dobbs decision. Republican politicians have outlawed the right for Georgia women to make their own healthcare decisions, which has not only blocked women from getting timely medical care, but caused multiple women to lose their lives.
Jason Esteves is running for governor to overturn Georgia’s restrictive abortion ban once and for all and restore a woman’s right to make her own healthcare decisions with her doctor and her family, not politicians.
