About Jason
Jason Esteves is a father, small business owner, attorney, and former public servant fighting for Georgians’ health, wealth, and opportunity.
Raised in Columbus, Georgia, Jason has always been driven by the values of hard work, perseverance, and leaving his community better than he found it. He grew up watching his father serve in the army and both of his parents work multiple jobs to make ends meet. Jason became the first in his family to go to college and eventually law school.
Before beginning his legal career, Jason worked as a public school teacher. His passion for giving every child the opportunity to succeed led him to run for the Atlanta Public Schools Board of Education, where he served as an at-large representative and later as Board Chair. During his tenure, he was instrumental in driving reforms that achieved record-breaking graduation rates, redirected funding towards schools and classrooms, and secured multiple salary increases for teachers.
Jason ran for the State Senate in 2022. He quickly became a respected voice under the Gold Dome, leading efforts to lower housing costs for Georgia seniors, expand access to healthcare, and invest in Georgia’s schools.
In 2026, Jason ran a historic campaign for Georgia Governor, finishing as runner-up in the Democratic primary. Campaigning statewide, Jason championed a new generation of leadership for Georgia and gave voice to Georgians who for too long had been left behind by political leaders who put corporate interests ahead of hardworking families.
Today, Jason is continuing the fight for a better Georgia as an advocate and frequent commentator in local and national publications.
Jason resides in Atlanta with his wife Ariel, a nurse practitioner, and their two young children. Jason and Ariel own several small businesses across the state, including an urgent and primary care clinic in Atlanta and restaurants in Columbus and Macon.
